Key West's Rooster Row Neighborhood Guide

Rooster Row is a beloved mix of the best Key West has to offer, with much to experience in this island neighborhood. The tiny enclave includes spirited bars and restaurants, a packed events calendar, and a laid back attitude indicative to island life. This slice of Key West is also home to a bevy of chic hotels and pools committed to your vacation excellence. Here’s everything you need to know about Key West’s Rooster Row.

Where is Rooster Row?

Rooster Row hugs Key West’s northeast corner, along N Roosevelt Boulevard in New Town. In fact, it’s the very first destination you’ll see once you arrive on the island from US 1. The neighborhood is conveniently located next to the Old Town Trolley Tour’s Roosevelt Station, minutes from Smathers Beach, and only 1.7 miles from Key West International Airport.

Bars & Restaurants on Rooster Row

Culinary adventure awaits on Rooster Row. The neighborhood has plenty of bars and restaurants to indulge in mouthwatering cocktails and island-inspired dishes. There’s Barefoot Bar & Brew, Salty Lime, Rum Row, and 24 North Hotel’s own Republica Bar & Lounge, a Havana-esque craft cocktail bar (there’s also a Starbucks on-site!). For eats, try The Garden Grille & Bar, The Blind Pig food truck, or Toasted Coconut for a Toasted Punch and plate of conch fritters.

Rooster Row offers all different ways to get tipsy on a dime. You’ll find a daily all-day Happy Hour on Rooster Row from noon to 10 p.m. (check the events calendar for a list of participating bars and times). Other deals include ‘Flocktail Friday’ at Rum Row - wear pink, tag your “flock” on social media, and get 10% off your tab. Plus, at Republica Bar & Lounge, it’s ‘Half Past Island Time’ every Wednesday, where select wines are half price.

What to Do on Rooster Row

Rooster Row has one of the largest entertainment venues and event spaces in Key West. The Sunset Green Event Lawn is a concert and live music venue, but also hosts diverse, recurring monthly events like Nama-Sit & Stay Yoga, Live at Sunset Monthly Concert Series, and Shakedown on the Green: Key West Local Artisan Market. Other events have included Super Bowl tailgate and watch parties, outdoor movie nights, and food truck pop-ups.

Just across the street from Rooster Row, on the other side of N Roosevelt Boulevard, is the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail, a palm-lined paved trail that serves as a multi-use bicycle and pedestrian pathway. The trail overlooks Key West’s surrounding waters and mangroves, and is the perfect place to take a walk or cruise on two wheels.

Now for a limited time, 24 North Hotel’s Bike Around Key West package includes two bike rentals per day, allowing you to feel the wind in your hair and explore Key West and the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail at your leisure.

As part of our resort fee, enjoy a complimentary shuttle from 24 North Hotel at Rooster Row to the Historic Seaport. Our shuttle service to Old Town, lively poolside bar, and comfortable and stylish rooms go a long way. See our special offers - and if you’re a Florida resident, enjoy big savings.
